You want to help people struggling with hearing loss, but the choice of charitable organizations is overwhelming. Just a few of the factors to consider are the cause itself, the trustworthiness of the organization, and how the resources are used. You can become a part of one of many national and international charity organizations that lend their time and resources to helping those in need of better hearing health.

Hearing Health Foundation – Collette Baker Ramsey, a woman who suffered from hearing loss herself, created Hearing Health Foundation in the 1950s. They provide research to treat and cure hearing loss and promote hearing health through prevention education for the public. Currently, the foundation is researching a cure for tinnitus, which is ringing in your ears that often signals a loss of hearing. There are many ways to help out with this foundation. Money is always the easiest donation for a charity to accept. This can be in the form of a one-time donation, monthly donations or gift of stock. If you prefer to be involved in a more hands-on way, you can share with them your personal experience with hearing loss or tinnitus, participate in fundraisers, or offer to name one of their research grants. Learn more or join today on their official website at www.hearinghealthfoundation.org.

Starkey Hearing Foundation – Starkey Hearing Foundation reaches an international audience with its 3 main services programs named Hear Now, Listen Carefully, and Hearing Aid Recycling. Their Hearing Aid Recycling program offers a place for you to donate your old hearing aids as gifts to those who can’t otherwise afford them. The Hear Now program helps people with limited resources obtain hearing aids. Listen Carefully is an educational program aimed at young people to educate them about the harm that loud noise and headphone use can cause.
